JSON Viewer
JSON Viewer / Tree
Explore JSON as an interactive collapsible tree - expand and collapse nodes to navigate any structure.
How to Use JSON Viewer / Tree
- 1.Paste your JSON Paste any valid JSON - object, array, or primitive - into the input.
- 2.Explore the tree The JSON renders as a collapsible tree. Click any node with children to expand or collapse it.
- 3.Inspect values Leaf values (strings, numbers, booleans, null) are shown with type-coloured labels.
- 4.Search or navigate Use the search bar to filter visible nodes by key name or value.
JSON Viewer / Tree & JSON Developer Standards
JSON is the standard format for web APIs and modern applications. Using the JSON Viewer / Tree helps you check syntax, catch formatting errors, and keep your data clean and readable.
Zero-Server Security
All data entered into JSON Viewer / Tree runs directly inside your browser sandbox. Nothing is ever sent across the network or saved on remote servers.
Clean & CI/CD Ready
Well-formatted JSON prevents runtime syntax bugs, makes code reviews easier, and ensures smooth API data exchange.
JSON Viewer / Tree Frequently Asked Questions
What is a JSON tree viewer?
A JSON tree viewer renders JSON as a hierarchical tree of expandable nodes, similar to the view you see in browser DevTools. It makes deeply nested structures much easier to navigate than reading raw text.
Can I edit values in the viewer?
The viewer is read-only for exploration. To edit JSON, use the JSON Editor tool which provides a side-by-side tree editor and text input.
Does it work with very large JSON files?
The viewer loads the entire JSON into the browser. For very large files (over a few MB), rendering all nodes at once may be slow. Collapsing top-level nodes first and then expanding what you need is the most efficient approach.
Are circular references supported?
Circular references are not valid JSON (JSON must be serialisable), so any valid JSON file will not contain them. The viewer handles all valid JSON structures.
Can this tool handle large, complex JSON payloads?
Yes. Because the tool operates directly inside modern V8 JavaScript execution engines, it easily processes complex multi-megabyte payloads containing thousands of nested keys with negligible latency.
Are my proprietary payloads or secrets stored or cached?
No. BeYourTools implements zero tracking, zero telemetries, and zero database persistence. Everything stays strictly inside your browser memory and disappears the moment your tab is closed.
