JSON to Excel & JSON Developer Standards
JSON is the standard format for web APIs and modern applications. Using the JSON to Excel helps you check syntax, catch formatting errors, and keep your data clean and readable.
Zero-Server Security
All data entered into JSON to Excel runs directly inside your browser sandbox. Nothing is ever sent across the network or saved on remote servers.
Clean & CI/CD Ready
Well-formatted JSON prevents runtime syntax bugs, makes code reviews easier, and ensures smooth API data exchange.
JSON to Excel Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Excel output include column headers?
Yes. Column headers are automatically generated from the JSON object keys and placed in the first row of the spreadsheet in bold.
Are numbers and booleans formatted correctly in Excel?
Yes. JSON numbers are stored as Excel numbers (not text), so you can perform arithmetic directly in Excel. Booleans become TRUE/FALSE. Null values become empty cells.
Can I export multiple sheets?
If your JSON contains nested arrays of objects, the tool can optionally create separate sheets for each nested array. Flat arrays produce a single sheet.
What library is used for Excel generation?
Excel files are generated using the SheetJS (xlsx) library running entirely in your browser. No data is sent to any server.
Can this tool handle large, complex JSON payloads?
Yes. Because the tool operates directly inside modern V8 JavaScript execution engines, it easily processes complex multi-megabyte payloads containing thousands of nested keys with negligible latency.
Are my proprietary payloads or secrets stored or cached?
No. BeYourTools implements zero tracking, zero telemetries, and zero database persistence. Everything stays strictly inside your browser memory and disappears the moment your tab is closed.
