JSON Merge

JSON Merge

Deep-merge two JSON objects into one - nested objects are combined, with the second taking precedence on conflicts.

Base object (A)

Override object (B)

Merged result
The merged JSON will appear here.

How to Use JSON Merge

  1. 1.Paste the base JSON Enter the first (base) JSON object in the left panel.
  2. 2.Paste the override JSON Enter the second JSON object whose values will take precedence on any key conflict.
  3. 3.Click Merge The tool performs a deep merge and shows the combined result.
  4. 4.Copy the merged result Copy the merged JSON to use in your code or configuration.

JSON Merge & JSON Developer Standards

JSON is the standard format for web APIs and modern applications. Using the JSON Merge helps you check syntax, catch formatting errors, and keep your data clean and readable.

Zero-Server Security

All data entered into JSON Merge runs directly inside your browser sandbox. Nothing is ever sent across the network or saved on remote servers.

Clean & CI/CD Ready

Well-formatted JSON prevents runtime syntax bugs, makes code reviews easier, and ensures smooth API data exchange.

JSON Merge Frequently Asked Questions

What is a deep merge?

A deep merge combines two objects recursively. When both objects share a key that contains another object, the nested objects are merged too rather than one replacing the other. A shallow merge would simply overwrite the nested object entirely.

What happens when both objects have the same key?

The second object's value wins. If both values are objects, they are recursively merged. If either value is a primitive, array, or null, the second value replaces the first.

How are arrays merged?

Arrays are replaced, not merged element-by-element. If both objects have the same key containing an array, the second object's array completely replaces the first. Array concatenation is not performed automatically.

Can I merge more than two objects?

The tool merges two objects at a time. To merge three or more objects, merge the first two, then paste the result as the base and merge with the third object.

Can this tool handle large, complex JSON payloads?

Yes. Because the tool operates directly inside modern V8 JavaScript execution engines, it easily processes complex multi-megabyte payloads containing thousands of nested keys with negligible latency.

Are my proprietary payloads or secrets stored or cached?

No. BeYourTools implements zero tracking, zero telemetries, and zero database persistence. Everything stays strictly inside your browser memory and disappears the moment your tab is closed.
